Art for Recovery is an award-winning program of the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center. Through this program, patients coping with life-threatening illness, such as AIDS and cancer, are given an opportunity to express their feelings and experiences through art using their own creativity as part of the healing process.

Projects include:

  • Art, writing and music support groups (due to COVID-19, these are now held online)
  • Sterilized art kits for hospitalized patients
  • Firefly Project, a letter-writing exchange between medical students and patients
  • Employee well-being workshops
