Family Medicine Center at Lakeshore
We offer primary care for patients of all ages, from infants to seniors. In family medicine, all family members can receive medical care from the same doctor or nurse practitioner.
Our mission is to provide extraordinary primary care. We are the health care home for patients from all walks of life and diverse cultural and family backgrounds. We aim to create a learning and healing environment with our patients, students and colleagues, and to model innovative, conscientious, high-quality care.
Our doctors and nurse practitioners provide a wide range of primary care services, including preventive medicine, management of ongoing chronic illnesses and treatment of acute or severe problems. We also offer prenatal care.
When patients need care that is outside our scope of practice, we refer them to the appropriate UCSF specialist and department. We communicate and collaborate with specialists and hospital doctors to ensure our patients receive comprehensive care.
Pregnancy care
Lakeshore doctors have a special focus on caring for growing families. We form a relationship with you during this period, helping you make informed choices during pregnancy and beyond.
Pregnant patients deliver at the UCSF Birth Center, where a team of doctors and nurses helps you safely welcome your baby.
If you have a high-risk pregnancy or your baby needs advanced care, we provide seamless access to UCSF’s complex obstetric medicine specialists (high-risk pregnancy experts) and neonatologists (newborn experts). You will also have access to the latest and most sophisticated medical technologies should you need them.
After delivery, we make sure you’re healing well and adjusting to life with your new baby.
