Brieze Bell, MD

Dr. Brieze Bell is an internal medicine doctor who specializes in palliative care, hospital medicine and integrative medicine. She is passionate about accompanying her patients in each stage of their health journeys, from safeguarding wellness through preventive care to supporting them and their loved ones during serious illness. She focuses on improving her patents' quality of life, helping them manage symptoms and providing care for people living with cancer that focuses on each patient's own goals and optimizes wellness by integrating conventional treatments with complementary therapies. As a hospital medicine doctor, she coordinates and optimizes care for patients admitted to the hospital.

In her research, Bell investigates the use of integrative palliative care techniques, including psychedelic medications, to improve quality of life for people living with cancer. She also studies the impact of integrative therapies on the quality of hospital-based care.

Bell is dedicated to educating medical students about how internal medicine, palliative care and integrative medicine intersect, and how they can be applied in the care of all patients.

Bell earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in integrative medicine at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health.

Bell's personal pleasures and interests include spending time with her family and dog, doing yoga and other mindfulness practices, and engaging in social justice work and many outdoor activities.
