Relieving cancer symptoms and treatment side effects

Our expert team provides comprehensive support to ease cancer symptoms and treatment side effects. We draw on many approaches to address physical, emotional and spiritual challenges so you can improve your quality of life.

Our services are available to anyone receiving care at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. If you're interested in our care, please ask your oncologist for a referral.

Cancer treatment side effects

Our compassionate team includes doctors specializing in palliative care, integrative health and pain medicine. They are supported by nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, chaplains and service coordinators. We work closely with your cancer care team to ensure your treatments are safe, effective and appropriate for your needs.

Our services include treatments for:

  • Anxiety, depression and mood changes

  • Digestive issues

  • Fatigue

  • Low appetite

  • Nausea

  • Pain

  • Sleep problems

  • Spiritual distress

We also work with patients and their loved ones on advance care planning.
