Dr. Adrian Tomes is a family physician who provides primary care for children and adults with a wide variety of conditions. He is experienced in addressing urgent medical needs as well as managing chronic diseases. His special interests include preventive care, depression and anxiety, weight management, diabetes-related care and sports medicine.

Tomes takes pride in centering his care around the physical, mental and social needs of each patient. He seeks to form long-term relationships built on shared decision making and mutual respect. Having previously trained and worked in underserved communities, he is dedicated to advocating for health equity and serving patients of all backgrounds.

In research, Tomes has a strong interest in the use of technology in health care, looking specifically at technological applications to improve patient care.

Tomes earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed a residency in family and community medicine at Hennepin Healthcare, serving as chief resident. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Tomes was born in Schwetzingen, Germany, and moved to the Twin Cities in his youth. He enjoys playing basketball, cooking and spending time outdoors in his free time.

    Promised follow up was not completed. Later learned this provider is only onsite once or twice a month. Follow up care should have been transferred to another provider

    Dr. Tomes is truly wonderful. Kind interested engaged thorough and efficient. In an incredibly short amount of time he identified what was wrong and laid out not only immediate steps but what future steps depending on the outcome of immediate steps. What might have required multiple "let's wait see and have you come back in a month" visits with another doctor was quickly clearly and compassionately explained in minutes. This gave me a much deeper understanding of my problems and a much higher degree of confidence that they were both understood and treatable. Dr. Tomes is a true treasure.

    He was probably the best primary care doctor I've seen. I felt acknowledged and I felt like he asked what I was looking for out of this visit and delivered.

    Dr. Tomes is a professional and friendly physician. He Is easy to communicate with listens well & answers my questions. Feeling a bit stressed from my high BP readings in the office I felt at ease when he mentioned about the "white coat syndrome".

    I have to wait until next week to get a call from the oncology dept for the next steps. I would have liked to get that call before the weekend but I guess I have to be patient.
