About me
Dr. Alexis Beatty is a cardiologist who cares for adults with heart disease or an elevated risk for developing the condition. She has special interests in cardiac rehabilitation (programs to improve cardiovascular health in people who have had certain heart problems or heart surgery), cardiac disease prevention, and digital health tools for helping people get and stay well.
In her research, Beatty develops, tests and implements new approaches to cardiac rehabilitation, including home and hybrid (home-and-clinic) programs, programs tailored to individual patients, and the use of digital health tools. Her goals are to provide access to cardiac rehabilitation for every eligible person, to improve health outcomes for patients, and to reduce health disparities among racially diverse populations.
Beatty earned her medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. At UCSF, she completed fellowships in cardiology and preventive cardiology, and earned a master of advanced study degree in clinical research.
Beatty directs the USCF MD/Master of Science in Clinical and Epidemiological Research Program, which trains medical students in patient-oriented research methods so they are fully equipped to become leaders in both research and the practice of medicine.

This experience was stellar. Dr. Beatty listened to everything I recounted about my health history, took everything seriously, looked at my records in relation to symptoms and medical information I reported and explained some of the lab and scan results in a clear and open way. I have been trying to get someone to take my heart health seriously for years and this is the first time I have felt confident that a doctor took my concerns seriously in light of my immediate family's history of cardiac issues that didn't show on initial testing but were actually serious blockages that requires placement of a stent (brother) and triple bypass (mother). Dr. Beatty is amazing.

Dr. Beatty is great. Always listens to my concerns, always have an Informative discussion and always includes me in decisions on care. It's always a productive session with lots of learning on my condition both during the discussion and even after as I read and research more on what was discussed.
