Dr. Alison Jacoby is an obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in providing safe, compassionate care for patients during childbirth.

Since joining UCSF in 1997, Jacoby has built a diverse career in women’s health, practicing general obstetrics and gynecology as well as cultivating expertise in uterine fibroids and minimally invasive surgery. With a strong commitment to medical education, she draws on her surgical experience to train the next generation of doctors about managing obstetric emergencies. She also works on quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal safety.

Jacoby earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts Medical Center.

    Dr. Jacoby is truly above and beyond-she's the best provider I've ever met. She always takes the time to listen to her patients' concerns, clearly explains treatment options to support informed decision-making, and outlines step-by-step plans for the chosen treatment and next steps in a way that's thorough and easy for anyone to understand.As a nurse with a background in healthcare, I really appreciate that she never assumes I know everything. Instead, she always explains things in a thoughtful, comprehensive way, making sure I feel informed and supported. I cannot thank Dr. Jacoby enough, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family member or friend in need of OBGYN care.

    My visit could have been streamlined and more effective if an MRO which I was told would be needed in. Either course of action had been ordered and done before this appointment which already had waited for for 4 months. The visit was non- specific to me because an mri hadn't been done so it was a generic visit that could applied to anyone with information I had also already found online.

    Dr. Allison Jacoby is a highly accomplished physician/surgeon. She successfully performed a myomectomy in 2021 which drastically improved my quality of life. When a recent concern arose pertaining to my uterus immediately chose to consult Dr. Jacoby. She presents herself very sincerely and is very kind. She makes me feel heard.A couple years ago friend struggled with uterine fibroids which greatly disrupted her life. I strongly recommend she consult Dr. Jacoby. She also had a very successful surgery and was very happy with the care she received.

    Dr. Jacoby has probably seen 1000s of these cases but still treated me and my situation individually and didn't just group into a similar situation. She also listened thoroughly which was new to me because no ob/gyn doc ever lets me finish! Thank you so much

    Dr. Jacoby is a very good listener and very patient. My visit with her did not feel rushed and she answered all my questions and more. She provided me with information on all my medical options and ultimately was able to help me make the decision best for me. Most of all , she showed care and concern.

    Dr. Jacoby is wonderful! I feel seen, heard and cared for in her presence. She is patient and always explains things in a way that is comprehensible but not condescending. I appreciate that she doesn't usually seem eager to rush off to the next thing, because sometimes I can take a while to relax and formulate my questions.

    I came for second opinion and I have a complicated case of fibroids. As the provider saw that I had already gone to Stanford Fibroid center, I felt she was not too interested in going through what UCSF can assist with. My care and major surgeries were at UCI and moving here I decided to try UCSF as I was impressed with the care there. I did not get the same experience with UCSF or the provider. She didn't open my MRI or any reports to discuss in details. Did not show any interest of me following up with my options next year. Totally disengaged and again I think because I was coming for a second opinion might have made my visit not worth it. I feel my time, and my health concerns were not valued
