Dr. Anna Haemel is a dermatologist who treats patients with all types of skin disease. Her expertise includes care for patients who have internal organ involvement and underlying systemic disease, such as rheumatologic conditions and inflammatory bowel disease.

Haemel earned her medical degree at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed a residency in internal medicine and dermatology at the University of Wisconsin.

Haemel is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, Medical Dermatology Society and Dermatology Foundation.

    Dr. ANNA HAEMEL IS A GENIUS AND A HARD WORKING PHYSICIAN WHO HELPS HER PATIENTS GET TO THE TRUE CAUSE OF THEIR SYMPTOMS. SHE SHOULD BE MADE DIRECTOR IF AN INTERDISCIPLINARY SPECIALTY CLINIC.

    Dr Haemel really cares about me as a person, and is extremely thorough in answering my questions and reviewing my treatment. Sometimes she talks/moves query quickly and I'm not sure whether I was able to capture everything. Overall, I am very devoted to Dr Haemel as my provider, and I wish it were easier to schedule/coordinate with her clinic and that her clinic ran on time.

    One of the reasons that I go to UCSF Dermatology is because the faculty stays up on current research on a variety of things that were affecting my care and were able to quickly articulate any side effects of any of the medication's. I was currently taking. You can't get that in a community hospital. Or clinic

    Dr Haemel is fantastic. She is the one who figured out that I have Myositis. She always takes the extra time to find out everything that's going on with not only my myositis but with the rest of my body and how I'm feeling mentally. Every interaction I've had with Dr. Haemel had been positive and has had a positive impact on my health and wellbeing

    Dr Hamel is an exceptional physician. She is extremely knowledgeable, very thorough and quite caring. The only downside is that it is very difficult to get an appointment due to the current shortage of dermatologists at UCSF.

    The doctor seemed well intentioned, but very limited as to what she could say, or do about providing treatment for me. She spent most of her time, looking at a screen, offering pharmaceutical options, and very little of her own thought seem to go into what was actually causing my issues. I felt like it was sitting with a Tele doctor who's only option was to offer temporary relief from various pharmaceuticals, without solution or explanation of my condition.

    I have found in my unfortunate experience in the healthcare system that the central provider can be extraordinarily good, but the people and staff that surround her are not.I just met some of her support staff and I'm hoping over time they will become more likable. But I have very little doubt that although my disease is very rare, she will have the tools needed to help me as best she can.

    I love Dr. Haemel. I have had a few dermatologists and she is the best by far. She listens and helps me. I have a lot of derm problems too! I had this derm surgery complication and she diagnosed it before the derm surgeon did. I cannot say enough good things about her.

    I have been waiting for almost a decade to find a Dr who could recognize, diagnose, and treat my problem. We're only at the diagnosis stage so far but this Dr has been one of the kindest, most thorough, and knowledgeable Drs I've had. I feel confident about undergoing a very intense treatment if she will be running it.

    "Follow-up care instructions: Fair" is because I was told I should return in ~8 months to check on a skin spot but I haven't received instructions about that. Maybe I will as 8 months approach... Hope that reminder is sent early in consideration of the booking backlog!

    Dr. Haemel spent a satisfying amount of time with me, encouraged me to ask questions I had prepared, trimmed my jagged fingernail, and explained what she hopes I will get out of taking mycophenolate. She explained why I need to initially get blood tests every month. I felt I had a good overall picture of what she is trying to accomplish with my Discoid Lupus.
