Dr. Cathy Sun is an ophthalmologist who specializes in caring for adults with glaucoma. She performs a variety of laser procedures and surgeries, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, filtering surgery and cataract surgery.

Sun's research focuses on using electronic health records and other large data sets to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and other eye disorders. She has received research funding from the American Glaucoma Society and is currently supported by the UCSF-Proctor Clinician Vision Scholars K12 Program, which is funded by the National Eye Institute.

Sun earned her medical degree and completed a residency in ophthalmology at UCSF. She completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She received a merit award fellowship from the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation.
