Dr. Daniel Thuillier is an orthopedic surgeon who cares for patients with foot and ankle conditions. He places high value on the doctor-patient relationship and is dedicated to providing innovative, individualized care in and out of the operating room.
Thuillier has been the Roger Mann, MD Endowed Chair in Foot and Ankle Surgery since 2024. In research, his interests include ankle instability, post-traumatic ankle arthritis and ankle replacement surgery. During his training, he studied the biomechanics of cartilage. He is active in teaching medical students and residents.
Thuillier earned his medical degree and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at UCSF. He completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Harborview Medical Center, part of the University of Washington health care system.
Thuillier is a Bay Area native, born in San Francisco and raised in Oakland. He is currently a team physician for the Oakland Roots.
