Kimberly Ray

MD

Breast radiologist

Dr. Kimberly Ray is a radiologist who specializes in breast imaging and image-guided breast procedures. She interprets all types of breast imaging, including mammography, tomosynthesis (a type of three-dimensional mammography), ultrasound and MRI. She also performs image-guided minimally invasive breast biopsies and preoperative localization procedures, which help breast surgeons identify abnormal growths so they can be removed while sparing healthy tissue.

Ray's research centers on improving outcomes for patients with breast conditions through refining and advancing imaging-based screening and diagnostic methods. She focuses on newer techniques, such as tomosynthesis – which can detect early signs of breast cancer – and breast MRI.

Ray earned her medical degree and completed a residency in radiology at the University of California, Irvine. She completed a fellowship in breast imaging at UCSF.
