Dr. Pratyusha Kishore Narra is an internal medicine specialist who cares for adults. She believes that establishing a collaborative partnership with her patients is the foundation for helping them achieve their health goals. Her special interests include healthy aging, management of chronic diseases, mental health, diagnosing and managing dementia, and reducing health care disparities.

Narra earned her medical degree at Mamata Medical College in India, an affiliate of the Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, an affiliate of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she served as associate chief resident. She completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Stanford University, where she was awarded an honors scholar certificate in the education program.

In her free time, Narra enjoys reading Russian literature and poetry, and traveling.

    I think Dr. Narra is terrific. Our in person appointments are very productive. She is caring listens well and I like her holistic approach to health care. What I have trouble with is communication through the web portal. I understand that the health care system is very strained right now and triage is conducted. However recently I have emailed Dr. Narra with simple questions only to receive inadequate responses from nurses. As mentioned earlier I thought I was getting a physical only to learn at the conclusion of the appointment that it was a consultation. I will have to schedule an additional appointment for a Pap smear. Frankly I'm a pretty low maintenance patient. I'm beginning to think that I should call the office instead of communicating through the web portal.

    Dr Narra is one of the finest physicians I have ever had. She is brilliant caring demonstrates sincere interest in patients. She also works closely with my two other UCSF great doctors to ensure my entire health is addressed simultaneously.

    My visit with Dr. Narra was excellent. She covered all the bases of my medical needs and was very empathetic in regards to my concerns. It was my first visit with her as my Primary doctor and I am very pleased to have her as the Key member of my medical team and be able to be under her care. I think that we are quite compatible which is very important in regards to all types of relationships.

    No follow up no explanation of result of xrays

    I had asked how soon will my file be ready for the next step she said as soon as we were done she enter her notes and be set sounded pretty immediate. Come to find out it was not ready till the end of night and wasnt able to move forward till the following morning (today) which is frustrating in the sense that my doctor lied to my face I specifically asked only that one question and she did not follow through with what she said next time be honest and just say it should be ready in 24 hrs or whatever but dont make me believe this getting done faster than it is especially when you see im worried about this consider your patients mental state and emotional state dont you think?

    For an annual wellness check no blood test was ordered. Dr. Narra said that she will put everything on my chart -- it has been 8 days since our appointments and there is nothing on my chart. So I feel the need to see another doctor for this wellness check.

She Increased the dosage of one of my medications (for high blood pressure In accordance with a cardiac specialist's recommendation. I left feeling that I had received a very thorough health review.

    Unusual physical exam. Other than the blood draw the only "exam" was looking at a problem that I brought up. The doctor didn't listen to my heart or conduct any examination at all. I was stunned. This was described as a Medicare Annual check up so I guess that's all they pay for (?). I left feeling I need to find another doctor not affiliated with UCSF to Conduct an actual physical exam. I hope there isn't any underlying medical conditions that I'm experiencing that are not indicated by the blood draw because that was all the exam I received. I could get better service from Kaiser.

    Acknowledged that my problem required an ultrasound and GYN referral and performed a pap test all to rule out cancer of the uterus. She expressed that if there are delays in the test and referral appt I may contact the office to see if they can be expedited. I sent a mychart message 1 day later requesting assistance in earlier appts since both are not available for 2 months. Response is pending.
