Dr. Sunita Mutha is an internal medicine specialist and primary care doctor. She directs Healthforce Center at UCSF, which connects policymakers, government officials, philanthropic groups and health care leaders and provides them with tools to make medical care more effective and equitable.
Mutha's research centers on improving health care delivery, with a focus on removing barriers related to the workforce and language as well as on building service capacity.
Mutha earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. She completed a fellowship at Stanford University in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program.
Mutha is a member of the American College of Physicians and Society of General Internal Medicine.
