Dr. Thiennu Vu is a pulmonologist who provides consultation and treatment for adults with lung diseases.

Vu earned her medical and doctoral degrees through the UCSF Medical Scientist Training Program. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UCSF.

Vu is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

    Extremely grateful to have such a thorough Dr she knew my Med hx from years ago. UCSF had excellent Drs. I love they communicate to each dept I see hematology liver and pulmonary.Ny pulmonologist Is very knowledgeable caring!

    The rudest person I have encountered at UC. No regard for others time. Only squeezed out a perfunctory apology after being scolded.

    Dr. Vu sorted out an issue I had been wrestling with for more than a year in just two visits. I love Dr. Vu. She listens and understands.

    Dr Vu does not seem to be a good communicator. In general her speech is hesitant and she seemed to wait for ME to describe my situation, to which she would respond. She told me I would receive a container for a sputum test. When I asked for directions for its use, she said there were none. When 4 containers arrived with no directions, I had to contact her through MyChart to ask how to proceed. At that point she responded that there WERE, in fact, directions...quite specific ones, at that, with more supplementary information. Dr Vu seemed to be unfamiliar with what she was prescribing or just wanting to get off the call!!?

    I was expecting to talk about my long COVID symptoms, but they only scheduled me with Pulmanologist. I already have a pulmonary dr and she could not provide and help.

    Dr. Vu was very caring, and had a good understanding of my medical records and previous history. She ordered tests for me, which were able to be scheduled to be performed in just a couple of weeks, which is great.

    She is very caring and listen to my concerns. Trying all ways to treat my symptoms. Always ask my opinion on her plan of treating me.
