Yoo Jin Lee

Cardiothoracic imager, lifelong traveler and art admirer

Dr. Yoo Jin Lee is a radiologist who interprets CT, MRI and X-ray images of the chest and heart, including those for adults and children with congenital heart disease. She also performs CT-guided lung biopsies to diagnose diseases such as lung cancer.

In research, Lee explores CT and MRI techniques in cardiothoracic imaging. She also has interest in imaging of biomedical devices.

Lee earned her medical degree and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Kyungpook National University in South Korea. She completed fellowships in cardiothoracic radiology and nuclear medicine at the University of Virginia. Before joining UCSF, she was a clinical instructor at UVA. She was selected by the diagnostic radiology residents as the recipient of the Outstanding Fellow Award in 2020.
