Susannah Santee specializes in acute and chronic musculoskeletal orthopedic injuries, back and neck pain, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, sports and performing arts injuries. She utilizes current evidence and a biomechanical approach to movement dysfunction to customize treatment plans and help patients achieve their goals. Patient education, manual therapy, core/postural stabilization, and sport/task specific movement re-education are key elements to recovery and prevention of future injury. Santee promotes active and healthy lifestyles and believes that successful rehabilitation results from collaboration and dedication. She strives to create a fun, interactive learning experience for each patient.

Santee earned her doctorate in physical therapy from George Washington University. In 2012, she completed the Folsom Yearlong Orthopedic Manual Therapy Course and became a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) in 2014. She left private practice to join UCSF in 2015. Santee supplements her clinical practice with ongoing continuing education in orthopedic, sports and manual physical therapy. She volunteers as a teaching assistant in the UCSF doctor of physical therapy program. She is a member of American Physical Therapy Association (orthopedic and section) as well as that organization's performing arts special interest group. Other interests include modern dance, travel, gardening and spending time outdoors.
