Advanced Infusion therapy services close to home
At UCSF Health, our infusion centers across the Bay Area make it easy to get the Infusion treatments you need. You'll find an expert team committed to delivering safe, high-quality care.
Comfortable, convenient infusion services
We want to make treatment as convenient and comfortable as possible by offering flexible infusion options when appropriate. In some cases, we can teach you or your caregiver how to disconnect continuous chemotherapy pumps at home, so you don't need to come to the infusion center for a second visit each week. Our staff can also provide warm blankets and drinks during your treatment. At some of our locations, we offer snacks and wireless tablets for you to use.
Our IV infusion services include:
-
Chemotherapy
-
IV antibiotic administration
-
Hydration therapy
-
Red blood cell or platelet transfusions
-
Nonchemotherapy injections
-
Central line care
Expert infusion team
Many of our infusion nurses have specialized oncology training, so they understand the unique needs of people with cancer. They take care to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy and other infusion treatments whenever possible.
Our board-certified medical oncologists and oncology pharmacists work together to ensure your infusion plan is safe and customized to your needs. If you've had an adverse reaction to an IV therapy, we collaborate with our allergy and immunology experts to create a desensitization plan, which can allow you to continue getting the medication you need.
Acute care for cancer symptoms
People who have symptoms related to cancer or cancer treatment that aren't life-threatening can get urgent care from our cancer acute care specialists.
