Gynecologic Dysplasia Clinic

The UCSF Gynecologic Dysplasia Clinic offers state-of-the-art care for women with dysplasia, including cervical dysplasia as well as genital warts and related conditions.

Cervical dysplasia is a pre-cancerous condition, typically caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), and often detected by an abnormal Pap smear. Vulvar disease or pain also is associated with cervical dysplasia.

We provide a full range of screening and treatment options including colposcopy, a visual examination of the cervix; loop excision to remove abnormal tissue; and laser therapy.

We also offer the ThinPrep Pap test, an improvement on the conventional Pap test that was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

What to Bring

New patients will be asked to bring or send copies of medical records related to their condition, such as previous Pap smear or biopsy results.
