Fertility Preservation Program

Increasingly, people with cancer are surviving their disease, and many cancer survivors desire to have children. Cancer treatment can affect the reproductive systems of both men and women, making conception difficult. However, new treatment options have made it possible for many cancer survivors to conceive.

The Fertility Preservation Program is focused on quickly providing you with the information you need to make active, informed decisions about your fertility preservation options prior to cancer treatment. With a dedicated medical team that is at the forefront in fertility preservation, and one of the most highly respected certified embryology laboratories in the nation, we are uniquely qualified to offer the latest treatments in fertility preservation, so you can build a family when you are ready.

Time is often critical when making decisions about fertility preservation options, and we understand that patients often have a very limited time between the diagnosis and the beginning of cancer treatment. If you have a recent cancer diagnosis, we will see you within 24 to 48 hours of that diagnosis. Please call the Fertility Preservation Program directly at (415) 353-9115 to make an appointment.

Our team includes board-certified reproductive endocrinologists who have sub-specialized in fertility preservation for cancer patients, a certified embryology lab staff with expertise in cryopreservation, specially trained nurses, a psychologist, a genetic counselor and a large support team of caring administrative staff.

We collaborate closely with our patients' cancer specialists no matter where they reside. We have existing relationships with oncologists in the Bay Area and throughout the nation who are aware of the necessity to collaborate quickly to integrate your fertility preservation choices into your cancer care.

We preserve fertility in patients with any type of cancer, including breast, colon, head and neck, gynecological and hematological malignancies, as well as hereditary cancer syndromes and other medical conditions. Each patient's situation is unique, and we create individualized treatment plans to address the specific needs of each patient.
